1.) Digitalisation and inverterisation represent two relatively recent developments, amongst others (you are at liberty to invoke as many such relevant developments as you wish). As a manufacturer or supplier of HVACR equipment, what is the true measure of impact of such developments on such aspirations/outcomes as better energy efficiency, lower Total Cost of Ownership, better Indoor Environmental Quality IEQ), fire safety, reliability, data centre integrity, robust process cooling or stronger cold chain? (You may choose one, two or more aspirations/outcomes in writing your answer, as is/are relevant to the nature of products you manufacture or supply.) (78)

Answer: At Leminar Air Conditioning Industries, the integration of digitalization and inverterization has dramatically impacted fire and life safety systems, alongside improvements in energy efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
Energy Efficiency and Fire Safety: Inverter-driven HVAC systems are equipped with variable speed motors, allowing for real-time adjustments based on the immediate cooling or heating load requirements. This variable speed control reduces energy consumption by as much as 30% while maintaining operational performance. From a fire safety perspective, this technology ensures that systems are not unnecessarily overloaded, reducing wear and tear and ensuring they are always in peak condition for emergencies. For instance, in the case of our fire dampers, the integration of inverter technology optimizes motor performance, ensuring accurate and reliable operation during fire events.
To assess solar panel efficiency, Financial KPIs, consumption Leminar appointed a third-party consultant to analyze financial KPIs, environmental savings, energy assessments, and compare budget versus actual inverter investments.
Reliability and System Integrity: Digitalization, particularly the use of Building Management Systems (BMS), has enhanced the reliability of fire safety systems. Leminar uses BMS data to continuously measure fire dampers, smoke dampers, and air handling unit ensuring they respond instantly to changes in the building environment. In critical scenarios like a fire outbreak, digitalized systems provide real-time data and trigger automatic shutdowns or operational adjustments, ensuring that the HVAC systems do not contribute to fire spread and that occupants are protected. This significantly improves the safety and reliability of building fire safety systems.
Fire Prevention and Risk Mitigation: By integrating predictive maintenance capabilities through IoT-enabled Mobile application,, Leminar ensures the continuous monitoring of key equipment, reducing the risk of sudden breakdowns that could compromise fire safety. Predictive maintenance alerts facility managers to potential fire safety risks in real-time, ensuring that faulty equipment is addressed before it becomes a hazard. This shift from reactive to proactive fire safety management lowers the risk of failure during an emergency.
Leminar's investment in a laser cutting machine and welding process enhances precision, significantly reduces material waste, and boosts quality. This technology upgrade optimizes production, minimizes manual labor hours, and improves overall operational efficiency.
Leminar installed High-Volume Low-Speed (HVLS) fans to enhance Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), reducing reliance on energy-intensive HVAC systems while promoting comfort.
As part of a retrofit project, Leminar installed a VRF system within its office to replace the existing system, promoting energy efficiency and improving overall climate control.

2.) Aftermarket operational/lifecycle/performance data have become an integral part of continuous improvement in the HVACR industry. As a manufacturer or supplier, what is the data that you collect/track, and what is your approach to that data? How do you collect/track that data? How do you validate them? How do you use the data? And what is your approach to analysing the data in ensuring that your interpretation and subsequent data-based action are able to improve such aspirations/outcomes as better energy efficiency, lower Total Cost of Ownership, better Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), fire safety, reliability, data centre integrity, robust process cooling or stronger cold chain? (You may choose one, two or more aspirations/outcomes in writing your answer, as is/are relevant to the nature of products you manufacture or supply.) (79)

Answer: At Leminar Air Conditioning Industries, data collection and analysis are crucial to our continuous improvement approach, particularly in enhancing fire safety and reliability. As a manufacturer of fire and life safety systems, we collect data to ensure that our products meet stringent safety requirements, operate efficiently, and offer long-term value to clients.
Data Collection and Tracking: Leminar employs IoT-enabled sensors across our fire dampers, smoke dampers, and HVAC systems to gather real-time data on BMS system of the project. Metrics include damper activation times, temperature fluctuations, airflow rates, and energy consumption. For critical environments like data centers, we also track humidity levels, CO2 concentrations, and smoke detection events. This real-time monitoring ensures that any deviation from the norm is immediately detected, preventing potential failures or safety hazards.
Data Validation and Accuracy: Ensuring the accuracy of collected data is paramount. Leminar’s systems incorporate automated data validation techniques that continuously cross-reference real-time data with pre-set safety and performance thresholds. For example, if a fire damper does not close within its designated time frame during a fire drill, this anomaly is immediately flagged, prompting corrective action. Regular calibration of sensors ensures ongoing data reliability, and our systems are self-diagnosing, able to automatically notify maintenance teams if calibration or repairs are needed.
Data Analysis for Safety and Efficiency: Once collected, data is analyzed using advanced machine learning algorithms. This allows us to identify patterns, detect emerging issues, and make data-driven recommendations for improving fire safety and system efficiency. For example, we can analyze the performance of dampers over time and identify trends that indicate wear or potential failure points, allowing for proactive maintenance before a breakdown occurs.
Outcomes for Products and Reliability: Data-driven insights enable us to take corrective action quickly, improving both safety and performance. Leminar’s predictive analytics help clients avoid equipment failures and reduce the likelihood of safety hazards. For example, by analyzing damper performance data, we can predict when a damper might fail during a fire and recommend replacement well before it compromises safety. Additionally, the data allows us to offer tailored maintenance schedules that ensure fire safety equipment remains in top working condition, extending the asset’s life and reducing overall costs.
Leminar has introduced a barcode system for fire ducts and dampers as a pilot project, enabling quick authentication checks for supplied products and enhancing product traceability and quality assurance.
Through meticulous data collection, validation, and analysis, Leminar ensures that its fire safety systems meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. By continuously improving based on data insights, we not only enhance fire safety outcomes but also help clients reduce Total Cost of Ownership and ensure the ongoing reliability of critical infrastructure.
